The mission of the Health Services Research (HSR) department is to support the Commercial Business and Established Markets and Government Business and Emerging Markets business units by conducting research that improves the outcomes, quality, access to, and cost and utilization of health care services. HSR achieves this mission through health services research designed to (1) improve clinical practice, (2) improve BCBST's ability to provide access to and deliver high quality, high-value health care, and (3) provide policy makers with the ability to assess the impact of system changes on outcomes, quality, access, cost, and use of health care services. The candidate chosen for this position will serve to support the mission of the HSR department.<br />

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:<br />
The incumbent will work closely with senior researchers and HCS staff to support the HSR mission through the following major activities:<br />

â€¢        Provider Profiling<br />
â€¢        Clinical Program Evaluation<br />
â€¢        Population Assessment<br />
â€¢        Statistical Analysis<br />
â€¢        Outcomes Assessment<br />
â€¢        Report Development <br />
â€¢	Assist the senior researchers with developing the above-mentioned activities and programs. <br />
â€¢	Be responsible for maintaining production of reports related to the above-mentioned activities. <br />
â€¢	Produce visual explanations and conduct analyses on all reports related to the above-mentioned activities.<br />
Qualifications<br />
â€¢	Minimum acceptable qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a quantitative/research discipline and two or more years of managed health care experience or an advanced degree in a quantitative/research discipline; <br />
â€¢	Have some experience in the application of modern statistical design and analysis techniques to health-related data; <br />
â€¢	Have a strong interest in statistical and research methodology; <br />
â€¢	Strong abilities in the use of SAS and other computational software for statistical analysis. <br />
â€¢	Teamwork and leadership qualities are a plus.</p>

Supply Chain Analytics (Marketplace Analytics) provides key decision with fact-based guidance that increases the effectiveness and efficiency of the supply chain. The Project Manager will act as the technical development lead, the testing/validation resource, and a support resource for existing reporting applications, working mainly within the Supply Chain Analytics team, the Business Intelligence team in I.T., as well as with external clients. This will include supporting existing processes and developing new processes, including recommending ways to improve automation; technical and user acceptance testing for systems applications; technical support for current reporting capabilities and developing new reporting capabilities using a wide range of tools including SAS, MS office, web based technologies, etc.; and leading/mentoring less experienced developers.<br />
Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field of study (statistics, economics, information technology) or related field of study, along with at least 5 years of related experience working hands-on with data, preferably in a marketing related role. MS or MBA desired. Must have a good working knowledge of SAS (Base SAS and SAS Macro); basic knowledge of data warehousing and relational database design concepts; and basic SQL experience. Experience with Unix scripting, VBA, Advanced SAS ODS, and ETL / data transformation experience (e.g. Informatica) desired. Strong skills required in analysis, deadline orientation, attention to detail, multi-tasking, verbal and written communications, team participation, and decision making. </p>

In this venture, Wachovia will focus heavily on leveraging its relationship with the 13 million households and businesses that make up the current customer base. <p>The Role and Responsibilities: </p>

<p>This leader will oversee the day to day activities of the Risk Acquisitions modeling team and will be part of the Card Services Risk team. The individual will oversee a staff of statisticians focused primarily on the development of predictive models and vintage based loss forecasts to be used in the acquisition of new credit card accounts. The manager will direct and develop internal model development and coordinate in some cases development with third parties. </p>

<p>The VP will ensure acute compliance with industry and organizational standards for all model development efforts and will produce regular validations of model performance. She/He will take a leadership position on the timing and scope of model development efforts. </p>

<p>This individual will work closely with other functional areas within card services in a collaborative and constructive manner. She/He may partner with other internal model resources to develop models or optimization routines using various models. </p>

<p>She/He will provide on-going coaching around analytical and personal skills development and be responsible for the overall guidance of the group including staffing decisions, performance appraisals and planning. </p>

<p>The Candidate: </p>

<p>• Advanced degree in Economics, Statistics or other quantitative discipline <br />
• 7+ years statistical modeling experience with financial institution, preferably credit card </p>

• Experience in leading an analytical team <br />
• Ability to motivate and mentor associates on technical concepts and personal skills in a productive and encouraging manner <br />
• Comfort with SAS, Eviews, Knowledge Studio & other statistical software packages and ability to maintain strategic pace with new techniques and approaches <br />
• Mastery of communicating orally and in written forms <br />
• Demonstrated capacity to communicate complex ideas skillfully to various audiences <br />
• Proven ability to operate in collaborative environment <br />
• Comfort with financial profit drivers and their interrelationships </p>

•	Perform all SAS programming required for clinical trial analysis and reporting.<br />
•	Provide statistical programming expertise for project teams.<br />
•	Generate tables, listings, and graphs as required.<br />
•	Assist with statistical quality assurance review and program validation for each project.<br />
•	Interact with other departments, such as Clinical Operations and Project Management, to ensure a high level of client satisfaction through successful execution of projects.<br />
Education:<br />
•	B.S. degree required, M.S. degree preferred.<br />
Experience:<br />
•	A minimum of ten years of experience in SAS programming for pharmaceutical projects. <br />
