The Role and Responsibilities:

This leader will oversee the day to day activities of the Risk Acquisitions modeling team and will be part of the Card Services Risk team. The individual will oversee a staff of statisticians focused primarily on the development of predictive models and vintage based loss forecasts to be used in the acquisition of new credit card accounts. The manager will direct and develop internal model development and coordinate in some cases development with third parties.

The VP will ensure acute compliance with industry and organizational standards for all model development efforts and will produce regular validations of model performance. She/He will take a leadership position on the timing and scope of model development efforts.

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The successful candidate will take a lead role in conducting sophisticated analysis of both internal and external customer databases to generate insights for the Columns and Supplies Division. This includes developing statistical models (response and churn/survival models) in order to develop a deeper understanding of customer behavior and use the data to drive marketing strategies.

This position will also be responsible for direct marketing campaign analysis and will be involved in analytical consulting, customer research, and segmentation analysis. Conceptualization and development of test designs for direct marketing campaigns are also required. The ideal candidate’s expertise will include a comprehensive working knowledge of multivariate statistical techniques (e.g. time series, logistic regression, clustering and factor analysis) and their application to direct-marketing programs or other marketing business areas.

Responsibilities, Challenges, Expectations and Deliverables for this position:

• Represent the statistical programming function in support of assigned clinical studies.
• Independently develop, execute, and maintain SAS computer programs, including macro programs, according to Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs), cross-study analysis and data specifications, or analysis requests to:
• Produce statistical analysis output (tables, listings and graphs) to support generation of critical (flash) clinical study results, cross-study results for investigator brochures, regulatory submissions, or ad-hoc and exploratory analyses involving descriptive and simple inferential statistics.
• Perform data manipulations, including creation of derived data sets, related to the production of the statistical output.
• Verify (QC) study and cross-study analysis results or derived data sets produced by another statistical programmer, statistician, or an external vendor.
• BS in Statistics, Computer Science, or other related field with minimum 6 years SAS programming experience in the pharmaceutical/CRO industry; or MS in Computer Science, Statistics, or other related field with minimum 5 years SAS programming experience in the pharmaceutical/CRO industry.
• Advanced knowledge of SAS programming language and Base SAS, SAS/GRAPH parts of SAS software, good knowledge of common procedures in SAS/STAT.
• Good knowledge of general programming and computing principles, experience with Windows NT and UNIX operating systems, and common software products and technologies used in conjunction with SAS, expertise in office software (Microsoft Office).
• Good understanding of clinical study documents (protocol, CRF, SAP, Clinical Study Report).
• Working knowledge of clinical study designs, common analysis methods, descriptive and simple inferential statistics, and data presentation practices.
• Good knowledge of data management processes, including EDC processes, documents and data flow in clinical trials.
• Good knowledge of FDA and ICH regulations and industry standards applicable to clinical study data and reporting on clinical trials, including data standards for electronic submissions.
• Good oral and written communications skills.

The Associate will be responsible for providing advanced analytic support for Home Equity direct marketing efforts. This will involve the application of data mining and advanced statistical approaches to support the delivery of marketing campaigns. Specifically, business analysis, targeting model development, design of experiments, and strategic support will be provided across all types of Home Equity campaigns.
