Job Description:

Aquent has a client in the Alpharetta, GA area with tremendous growth and they are in need of 2 Statistical Project Directors. Our client offers a competitive salary along with excellent benefits.

Responsibilities
Designs, develops, and executes statistical analyses to meet statistical project design goals, including client and third party data preparation, data quality and consistency checking, and development of predictive models with a focus on insurance risk.

Sets and meets analysis timeframes and deadlines. Creates and presents results of analyses to Manager and/or internal stakeholders and to the client. Provides written follow-up on client comments and suggestions, and strives for client satisfaction with delivered reports and models. Creates and presents statistical design logic, as well as model development and model implementation specifications for client audits. Escalate to management any internally or externally imposed delays which may affect time schedule.

Translates initial and ongoing/updated client objectives into a workable research design that optimally combines the data/analytical services offered.

Follows technical guidance on statistical project design and methodology issues to achieve valid and statistically defensible results.

Plans and tracks all projects. Analyzes and assesses the value of internal and external data elements which support risk segmentation. Interfaces with systems and production personnel to assure timely, accurate production of datasets, programming variables, and implementation of models.

Provides to internal and external clients, on a consulting basis, advice regarding strategies, implementation, proper uses, and or limitations of CPS data and our analytical products and services.

Provides support to other team members.

Keeps abreast of industry trends which may involve occasional attendance at industry workshops. Helps increase awareness of analytic and data solutions in the industry.

Knowledge and Skills
Required Skills:
Masters Degree in appropriate discipline (e.g. Math, Applied Math, Operations
Research, Decision Science, Actuarial Science).
3 years experience building predictive models for business applications, using SAS or
comparable software.
Good Verbal and Written Communication skills.

Preferred Skills:
-Insurance experience desirable
-Extensive SAS experience including macros on UNIX and Mainframe; JCL experience.

Job Description:

Aquent has a permanent opportunity for an experienced SAS Programmer requiring 3-5 years of development experience with SAS with a very well known company located in the Alpharetta, GA. area. Our client offers medical, dental, vision, and 401K as well as other benefits.

The position requires excellent hard skills in programming and excellent soft skills with a business acumen attitude to assist the Design Engineers in the development of Software Specifications utilizing design constructs and standards.


Requirements

• Strong SAS data manipulation and data management skills (must have experience with millions of data sets)

• Familiar with UNIX (Solaris preferred)

• Must have strong business acumen skills (ex. Business Analyst or Project Management)

• Strong Auditing skills

• Creative problem solving skills

• Ability to review Performance Reporting results from a business perspective, based on the particular market vertical, to qualify that results are in line with expectations.

• Ability to investigate oddities in performance results to determine underlying cause.

• Develop moderate to difficult SAS software modules based on detail design specifications

• Interact with Account teams on new client programs reporting design

• Presentations of data anomalies and applied business logic to clients for new projects

• Ability to define process logic

• Must develop SAS program code from scratch, build in appropriate auditing, and deploy final information content to Account teams and Client

• Respond to technical direction from Lead Software Engineer

• Lead Unit level code walk-through

• Respond to administrative direction from Manager

Education Requirement
B.S. or equivalent work experience in Computer Science/Mathematics

Key Job Functions:
In this exciting position you will -

• Play an Analytical and direct marketing consultancy role.

• Bring leading industry expertise into key client relationships which support client retention, cross-selling and up-selling, and prospecting opportunities.

Job Function Breakdown:

• 60% Direct Marketing Consultant: Provide direct marketing strategies to senior client contacts on optimizing marketing profitability through profitable universe selection, universe expansion, list selection, channel optimization and other strategies. Develop and monitor client strategy plans for continuous improvement.

• 20% Analytical Consulting: Provide analytical consulting to CPPM strategic clients. Test designs, predictive model evaluation, selection optimization and ad hoc analysis to support client strategies and promote the value of CPPM products and services.

• 10% Capabilities Presentation: Represent CPPM capabilities to prospects, Trade show/convention exhibitions and technical consulting of advertising and promotional material design.

• 5% New Product Development: Transfer industry and field expertise into new product concepts and services. Assist in defining product specifications and pricing. Design training material.

• 5% Legislative, Regulatory and Industry: Monitor Federal and State regulations. Monitor industry trends and inform field of regulations and changes. Design brown bags, presentations and training programs as needed to educate CPPM managers.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Statistics, Math, Engineering or similar field is required. MBA, MS Bus admin, or equivalent experience is preferred.

• 7-10+ years Direct Marketing industry experience or consulting experience required.

• 5+ years advanced training in data mining or statistics and insurance field/portfolio management is required.

• Working knowledge of SAS required.

• Ability to drive analytics for direct marketing analysis is required.

• Experience using ITA and Credit Data for direct marketing applications.

• Experience utilizing multiple marketing channels to acquire new accounts and manage insurance portfolios.

• Sales presentation experience and interaction with client senior executives is required.

• Project management skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong PC skills.

• Must be willing to travel 25-30% across the U.S.
